2006 Celebrations

The Launch

Endeavour's annual, state-wide celebration of the lives and achievements of people with a disability was held on the first day of Spring, 1 September, 2006.

Her Excellency, Ms Quentin Bryce AC, launched the day at the Windsor Day Centre on Monday 28 August.

Over 80 guests and key dignitaries, including Lady Mayoress Mrs Lisa Newman and Mrs Desley Scott MP (representing the Premier), attended the function.

A tour of both the Day Centre and Latch-On facilities gave clients and Latch-On students the opportunity to showcase some of their personal projects.

In true Daisy for Disability Day tradition, Ms Bryce and Windsor Day Centre client Andrew O'Sullivan planted a daisy bush in the front garden of the service.

The following Friday, Endeavour services around the State met up to the Governor's promise of a fun and rewarding day; following is a sample of events.

The Day

More than 20 Endeavour services participated on the day, firmly establising Endeavour’s own annual ‘day’ as a successful State-wide fundraising event, uniting Endeavour stakeholders with the opportunity to celebrate the abilities of the 3,000 Queenslanders with a disability that Endeavour supports.
